The search was on for a better alternative to a mechanical fan.
Like a knucklehead i ordered two of the three wire plugs for it.
I ve heard something about using fans out of a ford windstar not sure the reason why it such a popular swap.
I have read that a 90ish 3 8 ford taurus stock fan would work great.
There are a great variety of option here.
Electric fans can be shut off.
I got my windstar fan in the mail yesterday running it on my 74 lwb bbc radiator and the plugs came today.
Looks nice and the measurements work perfectly on my radiator.
After seeing some of the prices for electric fans at various stores parts houses that option was about to be ruled out as well but luck prevailed as my brother and i soon discovered that ford windstar dual electric fans would swap easily into my car with only minor trimming.
These things move a ton of air.
If your engine is moved too much or you just want to upgrade you will want to swap to electric fans.
Also looking for advice or reference material on how to hook up a thermal switch so it kicks on when it needs to.
Going to electric fans is stupid if done for any other reason than water crossing.
The horsepower gain is minimal not even worth the cost of doing a conversion.
Also a 95 98 ford windstar is almost a direct bolt in with minor trimming needed to the shroud.
From the common budget option of the ford windstar fans which uses a set of fans off a ford windstar modified to work in the c10 to fabricated aluminum radiators with custom fan shrouds and fans.
This is a single 2 speed fan.
Clutch fan cant be shut off they seize up the engine when submerged.
Put new fans in the chevelle out of a 2001 ford windstar.
